Pokémon Sword – Nintendo Switch is an adventurous RPG set in the world of Pokémon , in which you embark on a journey through the brand-new Galar region as a Pokémon Trainer. This installment in the main series introduces new Pokémon, mechanics, and an open exploration area.
In this game, you choose one of three starter Pokémon (Grookey, Scorbunny, or Sobble) and embark on an adventure to become the Champion of Galar. Along the way, you battle Gym Leaders, uncover secrets surrounding legendary Pokémon, and build your own team.
One of the biggest innovations is the Wild Area , an open area where you can walk around freely and see Pokémon roaming in the wild. Additionally, the game introduces Dynamax and Gigantamax battles , in which Pokémon become gigantic and gain special attacks.
You can play solo, but also team up with other players in Max Raid Battles , both locally and online.
