The Nintendo 3DS (N3DS or 3DS) is a handheld console produced by Nintendo and the official successor to the Nintendo DS. The Nintendo 3DS was officially unveiled to the public at E3 2010 in Los Angeles. The 3DS replaces the Nintendo DS, features backward compatibility with DS and DSi games, and competes with the PlayStation Vita.
The Nintendo 3DS utilizes 3D effects without the need for special glasses. It can play select 3D movies and take 3D photos and videos with its two front-facing cameras (three cameras in total, including one above the top screen). It can also be used for internet browsing. The Nintendo 3DS's tagline is "Take a Look Inside."
